Connect Jira to make an Atlassian Jira site available as a ticketing integration in your Upsun Dispatch organization.
This page covers the Jira connection flow in Upsun Dispatch: connecting an Atlassian site, confirming the selected site, viewing the connection, and disconnecting it. Connecting Jira does not by itself create Jira issues or link existing issues.

Before you start

You need:
  • Access to the Upsun Dispatch organization where you want to add the Jira integration.
  • Access to the Atlassian account and Jira site you want to connect.
  • Permission in Atlassian to authorize or approve the Jira integration for that site.
If your organization requires an Atlassian administrator, app approval, or a service account, use the Atlassian admin, Manage apps, and service account documentation links shown in Upsun Dispatch during setup.

Connect a Jira site

1

Open integration settings

In Upsun Dispatch, open your organization settings, then go to integrations and choose Jira.
2

Start the Jira connection

Use the Jira connect action. Upsun Dispatch sends you to Atlassian to choose the Jira site for the organization.
3

Authorize in Atlassian

Sign in to Atlassian if prompted, review the requested permissions, and authorize access to the intended Jira site.
4

Confirm the selected site

After Atlassian returns you to Upsun Dispatch, confirm that the selected Jira site is the one you want to connect.
After the connection succeeds, the Jira site appears in Upsun Dispatch as a connected ticketing integration. You can view Jira connections in the Upsun Dispatch console. See Use the Upsun Dispatch console for console navigation.

Required permissions

Upsun Dispatch does not ask you to paste Jira tokens or manually enter Jira scopes during the documented connection flow. Instead, Upsun Dispatch sends you to Atlassian so you can select and authorize the Jira site. Review the permissions shown by Atlassian before authorizing the connection. If you cannot approve the integration, ask an Atlassian administrator for access or app approval for the Jira site.

Issue creation and linking

The Jira setup flow only connects the Atlassian site to Upsun Dispatch. It does not include a separate step that creates Jira issues or links existing Jira issues. If a Upsun Dispatch workflow or screen offers Jira issue creation or linking, use the connected Jira site shown there. If no Jira issue action is available where you expect it, first confirm that the Jira connection is present in your organization’s integration settings.

Manage the connection

Use the Jira integration settings in Upsun Dispatch to disconnect a Jira connection from the organization. Disconnecting removes the connection from Upsun Dispatch. If your Atlassian organization also requires app cleanup or permission review, use the Atlassian admin or Manage apps links shown in Upsun Dispatch.

Troubleshooting

I cannot authorize the Jira site

Confirm that you are signed in to the Atlassian account that has access to the Jira site. If Atlassian requires administrator approval, ask an Atlassian administrator to approve or configure the integration.

The wrong Jira site was selected

Return to the Jira integration settings in Upsun Dispatch and repeat the connection flow for the intended site. Confirm the selected site after Atlassian redirects you back to Upsun Dispatch.

The Jira connection does not appear in Upsun Dispatch

Confirm that the Atlassian authorization completed and that you confirmed the selected site in Upsun Dispatch. If setup stopped before confirmation, start the Jira connection again from your organization’s integration settings.

I need to remove the connection

Disconnect Jira from the organization’s integration settings. If you also need to review Atlassian-side access, use the Atlassian Manage apps or admin links shown in Upsun Dispatch. For the broader integrations list, see Integrations.
